Itinera Emilia offers a complete service for school excursions. We select the guides and itineraries best suited for your needs at any time of the year.

For elementary

  • “Giocaimpara”: Medieval Parma. A 2-hour tour for the littlest people around the cathedral, Baptistery and Diocesan Museum. It will interpret the representation of months, the Zoophore and the Capitals to discover the stories and meanings.
  • “Giocaimpara” Parma Theatres: a 2-hour tour for the littlest people at the Farnese Theatre and the Regio Theatre.
  • “Giocaimpara” at the Museum: a 90-minute activity in the National Gallery to observe, with the children, some masterpieces of the Museum, such as da Vinci’s “Scapigliata”, “the pale” of Correggio, the Turkish Slave of Parmigianino and the portrait of Marie-Louise of Austria by Borghesi.

For junior and senior high school

Parma in a 1/2 day:

By visiting Parma, high school classes will be able to recognise many themes included in their curriculum: Roman history, the Middle Ages with the cathedral and the baptistery, the Renaissance with the masterpieces of Correggio and the 19th century of Verdi and Marie-Louise of Austria.

Full day in Parma:

in addition to the classical tour of the city, more in-depth tours can be arranged on the Middle Ages, the Renaissance, the history of music, according to the needs of the teachers.

A day of castles and gastronomy:

An itinerary appropriate for all, which lets teenagers get a close look at the operation of a production facility, address themes related to correct diet and learn the characteristics of a “P.D.O.” product.

The class can then choose to visit one of the many castles of the province of Parma.

Musical itinerary of Parma at Busseto

A day dedicated to the history of music and theatre: In Parma you choose a visit to the Regio Theatre, the Farnese Theatre or the Opera Museum.

In the province of Parma we will follow the footsteps of Verdi in his birthplace Roncole and in the Busseto Theatre dedicated to him.

Modena in a 1/2 day:
While walking through historic centre of Modena it will be possible to recognise the traces left by the different eras, from Roman antiquity to the 19th century. The emphasis will be on the Saint Geminian Cathedral, whose reliefs reflect the themes from Genesis and classical antiquity, from popular news to bestiaries, to the series of legends of the Knights of the Round Table.

Bologna in a 1/2 day:
It’s impossible not to stay enchanted by Bologna! The tour begins on the monumental Piazza Maggiore, dominated by the Basilica of Saint Petronius. We tour the Palace of the Archiginnasio, ancient temple of academic knowledge, cross the old market and arrive at the Palazzo della Mercanzia that overlooks the famous towers of Asinelli and Garisenda.

Piacenza in a 1/2 day:
The Middle Ages and the Ducal period are hubs around which the tour of Piacenza is arranged, with the Farnese Palace, the Horses Square and the Cathedral. A pleasant stroll among gelato ice cream parlours in the centre of an in-depth theme among the Farnese Palace museums can wrap up the day.
